PROJECT PREEMIE ENCOURAGES DONATIONS
I’ve seen the environment that preemies live in, as I was fortunate enough to volunteer at a baby shower for all the parents with babies in the NICU at Loma Linda University Health.
I want to help raise awareness about premature babies because very few people know how important it is to donate to them. It’s especially important to realize the undeniable need for neonatal supplies.
Many premature babies are born so suddenly and unexpectedly that parents aren’t prepared for when they come. In addition, 1 in 10 babies is born premature. That’s a lot! The high amount of preemies born every year in the US makes it hard for hospitals to keep up with the need for supplies.
I also would like to be a neonatal nurse when I get older, so I decided to do a project on something that is very near and dear in my heart.
